    The Center of International Education “RUSSIAN STUDIES” was founded in 1999 to provide educational services for foreign citizens in English and Russian Languages. The Center “RUSSIAN STUDIES” works as a part of the Herzen State Pedagogical University and in cooperation with the Law School. The Center provides the educational activity in collaboration with the departments of humanities of Herzen University.
Since the Centers foundation (1999), students from the Hong Kong, USA, Finland have studied there.

    The Herzen State Pedagogical University of Russia is a university-member of the Bologna process.  The educational programs have been developed according the ideology of the Bologna movement.

  The Center also offers:

  • Bachelor degree programs (3-4 years)
  • Master degree programs (1-2 years)
  • Spring and Summer School programs (2-6 weeks). Educational programs “Socio-Political and Intellectual Life of Russia at the XX-XXI Centuries”, “Post-Soviet    World: the origins and contemporary condition”, and other educational programs according to the foreign partners’ requests.
  • Fall and Winter School programs (1-4 weeks) are organized from September to February.

   The programs of “RUSSIAN STUDIES” propose studying Russian society’s life diversity, its culture, and history, from the ancient times to the present, the peculiarities of political and economic environment, law system, religions, public awareness, sociological views and ethnical-cultural processes.   
The programs based on the positive experience of the Russian traditional education and foreign models of professional education.

   Each of the programs of Spring-Summer and Fall-Winter Schools` Programs include educational and cultural components: visits to the museums, theatres, religions institutions, institutions of governing and education, tours to the historical and cultural places of Saint Petersburg, Novgorod, Pskov, Moscow and etc.
The training for 1 semester is also possible.

   Educational part of the Program includes approximately 48 hours (duration-3 weeks- equivalent of 3 credit hours).

   Structures of educational disciplines may be designed according to the request of the student or partner-university. The same relates to the schedule of the program- its beginning, subjects of lecturing, cultural events.

   The Center hosts groups of students and visiting scholars. The individual program of training is also possible. The numbers in one group vary from 2 to 40 participants.

  THE STATE CERTIFICATE OF THE HERZEN STATE PEDAGOGICAL UNIVERSITY OF RUSSIA is awarded according to the results of the training.

  The Educational Fees includes the following:

  • educational section (classes, seminars, workshop, exams);
  • cultural program;
  • the service of interpreter during the stay in Saint Petersburg;
  • accommodation in the Herzen University’s Hotel ;
  • meals;
  • visa support;
  • transportation
